News from the European Curling Championships in Chamonix:

News from the meetings:
The European Curling Championships 2001 will be in Vierumäki, Finland (December 8-16)
The World Curling Championships 2002 will be held in Bismark, North Dakota, USA. As previously announced, the WCC 2000 will be in Glasgow, Scotland, and then WCC 2001 in Lausanne, Switzerland .
The WCF also approved some new rules (toss, tie-breakers). Details see www.curling.org
Spain was accepted as a new nation, the 36th of the WCF.

System of play:
Men
: The team ranked 4th in the A1-Group (France) will play a Challenge Game vs. the first of the B-Group (Italy) (C1). The team ranked 4th in the A2-Group (Germany) will play vs. the second of the B-Group (Luxemburg) (C2). The winners of these two games are qualified for the quarterfinals.
Men Quarterfinals: 
First A1 (Finland) vs. Winner C1 (Luxemburg)
Second A1 (Switzerland) vs. Third A2 (Norway)
Third A1 (Sweden) vs. Second A2 (Denmark)
Winner C2 (France) vs. First A2 (Scotland)
